Last week the boys had the impossible task of challenging red hot Championship Favourites Dicksboro. The pundits were right as Dicksboro produced some scintillating hurling to take maximum points.
This week our youg hopefuls headed to Gowran t their new grounds and showed some spirit but the homeside prevailed. The boys will continue to train uder the stewardship of Jimmy Comerford who is doing everything possible to draw the best from these lads. Kepp on hurling boys..lovely hurling. Thomastown 8-11 to O'Loughlin Gaels 2-0
Hard luck to our u14s this evening who exited the football championship to a formidable Thomastown side. The big ball will be put back in the press for another year now and the lads get back to hurling training at the weekend. Fair play boys FEILE ‘17
Well done to our u14s who recorded two wins from two this weekend to win the Roinn A 3rd place playoffs over Erins Own & Danesfort . The lads will compete in the Roinn A FÉILE at the end of June alongside the other two city clubs and will host this years Cork Champions in their group. Keep up the good work Last weekend the u14s hosted the first group stage of the Paddy Grace Tournament. Young Irelands and Graiguenamanagh took the spoils on this occasion but round took place on Saturday where they boys earned their 2 from 2 and 3rd Place status. It was another defeat for our young Gaels today as they struggle to get to grips with the big ball. Young Irelands visited St. John's Park and handled the windy and wet conditions much better than the home side.
O'Loughlin Gaels 1-1 to 6-8 Young Irelands U14 Roinn A
1/4 FINAL A James Stephens v O Loughlins 1/4 FINAL B Young Irelands v Dicksboro SEMI FINAL C Thomastown v Mooncoin SEMI FINAL D A V B RESULT:
Duggan Steel Under-14 Roinn A Football League Group A St. Martins GAA 9-5 to 2-1 O'Loughlin Gaels It may look like a disappointing Result but the home side St. Martins were far more eager to get a result than the St. Johns outfit as the big ball looked a bit alien to them at times. Onwards and upwards U14 Roinn A Hurling League Result Dunamaggin 1-9 to 3-14 O'Loughlin Gaels Good news for the u14s as they took maximum league points in Dunamaggin this evening. Well done to the boys and all involved. |
